When there's existing video footage or exact photo-reference but there's a need for "illustrated" frames, I have a process through which I put the raw footage to create an illustrated look.

It's a lot more than simply applying a filter to a photo. Special attention is paid to emphasize certain areas over others and draw the viewer's eye where it needs to be.

There is some manual tracing as well as hand texturing to create a unique "illustrated" look that an automatic filter simply can't achieve.
